Patience & Diligence

To move a mountain, one moves one stone at a time.

At Borges BJJ, we offer Gi classes to children of all ages, ranging from five(5) to fourteen(14).

Our kids are divided into two(2) classes, one for the youngest(5-9) and the other for the oldest(10-14).

We are lucky to have an experienced staff on hand to help us handle the class sizes and be led by Coach Vince, who not only has years of experience, but is also a devoted father himself.

He has been training BJJ for 9 years and grappling has been a part of his life since middle school and high school, where he was a team member of their state champion wrestling team.

Vince loves working with our youth helping to develop their confidence, self defense skills and physical fitness.

He teaches the younger group, while the older group is taught by Coach Eduardo.

Eduardo is originally from Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil and moved to Georgia in 1998. A local graduate of Sprayberry, he has trained in Karate and Capoeira before coming to train Jiu-Jitsu in 2015.

Since then, Eduardo has come to recognize his passion for teaching, leading a mixed program(ages 4-16) before Borges, and is excited to join the team.

The younger group has a class that can be referred to as “structured play” with students being put through drills and obstacle courses to keep their attention while working on motor and coordination skills.

The older group has a simplified version of the adult classes. The students warm up together doing several exercises, going on to partner up and practice a fundamental technique.

From there, students are expected to do some light “rolling” or sparring, with us pairing them up based on size and ability.

From time to time, if class is focused during the week, the group gets to enjoy a well-earned game.
